Systems Administrator

We are seeking a dedicated IT Systems Administrator to join our team. This role will be responsible for setting up and configuring hardware, software, and networks according to company requirements. The ideal candidate will have an associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems, three to five years of relevant work experience, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent organizational and time management abilities. This is a full-time position.

Essential Functions:

  • Installation and Configuration: Setting up and configuring hardware, software, and networks according to company requirements.
  • Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance tasks such as applying updates, patches, and security fixes to ensure systems are up-to-date and running smoothly.
  • Monitoring: Monitoring system performance, diagnosing and resolving issues, and optimizing performance to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency.
  • Security: Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats. This includes managing firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Backup and Recovery: Developing and implementing backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and business continuity in the event of system failures or disasters.
  • User Support: Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, including resolving hardware and software issues, answering technical questions, and assisting with system-related tasks.
  • Documentation: Documenting system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to maintain an organized and efficient IT environment and facilitate knowledge sharing among team members.
  • Capacity Planning: Monitoring system resource usage and predicting future capacity requirements to ensure that systems can accommodate growing demands without performance degradation.
  • Compliance: Ensuring that systems and networks comply with relevant regulations, standards, and policies, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or industry-specific compliance requirements.
  • Training: Conducting training sessions for end-users or IT staff to enhance their understanding of system usage, best practices, and security protocols.
  • Other Duties: Special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems is preferred. Relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Three to five years work experience preferred.
  • In-depth and current knowledge of computer programs and hardware.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
